In 24 Hours

Today we leave Beijing and head to Jinan. I am not sure I can put into words what we are feeling right now. We had an amazing time in Beijing taking in Max’s culture but we are very excited to be on our way to his city and more importantly to him. Today is the last day he will spend in his orphanage. For the last 17 months he has woken up in the same bed, with more than like the same kids, the same nannies, the same familiar sights, sounds and smells. Tomorrow that will change for him. More than likely he has never been outside the orphanage walls, tomorrow may be his first adventure in the real world. At 9:30 am he will be brought to us in our hotel lobby. He will go from the hands of people he has know his whole life to complete strangers. We will look different, smell different, sound different, interact with him different, feed him different and hold him different. This is a day that we have been waiting for but for him it is a day that will turn his little world inside out and upside down. Please pray with us for his little heart in the next 24 hours. While we can hardly wait for 9:30 am to arrive this is not something that he is prepared for or even has a clue is happening. We are trusting that God is holding his little heart and preparing him and us for what is ahead just as he has held him in his hands the last 17 months. Today is the last day he will be an orphan. Tomorrow he will have a mom, dad, 2 sisters and a brother. Tomorrow he will be part of a family!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11
